Google Summer of Code Mentoring

I mentored a student in one of two GSOC projects of Axis2/C. It was quite a good experience for me since the student was in another country and and the communication had to go entirely through email. Even though I did mentor another project on the previous year, the student was from sri lanka and I could talk with him face to face and discuss the project issues with the student. So it was a completely new experience for me to mentor an student from another country via email.

The student turned out to be quite responsive and the project finished pretty well contributing some code to Axis2/repository as well.What I was really impressed with this student was the fact that he would respond pretty quickly to the emails I sent to him. Hopefully he would stick around with the project and contribute to the project.
